Specialist Teacher

Role Overview:
As a Specialist Teacher, you'll support students' specific areas of interest, fostering mastery and confidence before broadening their curriculum. You will plan and deliver lessons for small groups, collaborating with Learning Mentors and the Director of Education to track progress and prepare students for exams.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Provide a calm, consistent presence in the learning space.

  • Maintain accurate records and track progress.

  • Develop and deliver tailored lessons to support students' interests and confidence.

  • Collaborate with Learning Mentors and other specialists to enhance student learning.

  • Support the development of key skills across the curriculum.

  • Provide ongoing assessment and progress updates.

Qualifications and Skills include:

  • GCSE level 4 (C equivalent) in Mathematics and English.

  • Relevant qualifications or practical experience in your area of specialty.

  • Willingness to undertake mandatory training and professional development.

  • The ability to follow procedures, policies, and guidance from professional sources.

Salary:

  • Hourly rate negotiable based on skill set and experience level.

Learning Mentor

Role Overview:
As a Learning Mentor, you'll be a key support figure for each child, providing consistent daily contact and fostering a sense of safety. Your role varies based on the needs of each child, from helping them develop self-regulation to assisting with curriculum delivery.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Provide a calm, consistent presence in the learning space.

  • Support children’s emotional and behavioral regulation.

  • Facilitate communication between children, parents, and professionals.

  • Contribute to child development through activities and observations.

  • Support learning and communication skills at appropriate levels.

  • Maintain accurate records and track progress.

Qualifications and Skills include

  • GCSE level 4 (C equivalent) in Mathematics and English.

  • Desirable but not essential qualifications in child development, mentorship, and teaching.

  • Essential interpersonal skills, effective communication, and consistency in approach.

  • Willingness to undertake mandatory training and professional development.

Salary:

  • Starts at £11.50 per hour during probation, rising to £14.50 per hour post-probation.
